Hi! I'm Kim.
In my life, I have been a wife, a mother, a sister, and a daughter. To that list, I can also add a nurse, martial artist, and behavioral health counselor. I dabble in writing and photography and hope every day to get just a little bit better at all things. While I haven't loved every minute of my life, I love everything my life has given me.
As a professional counselor, I specialize in eating disorders. Which means that by association, I also specialize in things like trauma, anxiety, depression, family dynamics, co-dependency, obsessive-compulsive disorder, borderline personality disorder, and addictions. Working with these men, women, and children has allowed me the honor of bearing witness to some of the most beautiful and painful moments in life. It has helped me grow as a professional, but more importantly, it has helped me grow as a person. Each client has allowed me to explore yet another layer to the diverse and unique perspective of what it means to be happy.
I am a law-of-attraction girl firmly grounded in the research and science of psychology and helping theories such as Cognitive Behavioral Theory (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). Sprinkle in a little Reality Theory and Radically Open Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (RODBT), and you'll get a feel for the eclectic style I use to do my best to meet every individual right where they are.
If you have found your way to my website, I welcome you and honor the role I might play in your life, no matter how big or small. If you love dogs, a quirky sense of humor, and genuinely want to feel better, I think we'll get along fine. Thank you for being part of this with me. I can't wait to see what comes next.
*Kim is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), working in Gilbert Arizona. She is not currently taking new clients.
